UNLAWFUL DETENTION CALCULATOR

Home > Areas of Law > Unlawful detention > Calculator
There are a large number of factors which are fed into the calculation of damages. However the main ones are whether the detention was lawful at the start of the detention and the number of days that the person subsequently remained in unlawful detention. If a party could have been detained lawfully for the period they were technically detained unlawfully, it is possible that there will be no damages paid at all.

Calculate your damages for unlawful detention

This is a very rough and ready calculator. It is not a substitute for proper legal advice, which must be sought prior to issuing proceedings. Getting it wrong, will not only lose you the damages, you may have to pay the othersides costs as well. The daily rate decreases as detention lengthens, as such the figures are quite rough and ready.
1 - 10 days of detention
11 - 50 days of detention
51 - 100 days of detention
